Job Description

Cape Fear Vineyard & Winery is looking for a hands-on Kitchen Lead to help oversee our restaurant kitchen, weddings, banquets, and private events. This is a working leadership position for someone who enjoys being in the kitchen, leading by example, and taking ownership of the operation. We have an established restaurant menu and a management team that handles menu development. We are NOT looking for someone to come in and reinvent the kitchen. We need someone who can keep the kitchen organized, properly stocked, staffed, and ready to execute great food consistently. Responsibilities Manage kitchen inventory and food ordering Receive and organize weekly truck deliveries Maintain dry storage, coolers, and freezers Schedule and supervise kitchen staff Lead daily prep and kitchen operations Execute weddings, banquets, and catered events Prepare large-volume meals efficiently and consistently Follow established recipes and menus Train and work alongside kitchen staff Maintain food safety, cleanliness, and organization

Help execute specials and event-specific menus Step in wherever needed during busy services and events What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is: Experienced in a professional kitchen Comfortable with high-volume cooking and catering Organized and dependable Experienced with food ordering and inventory Comfortable leading a team Willing to work alongside their team—not just supervise Able to stay calm and organized during busy events A strong communicator and problem solver Willing to work nights, weekends, weddings, and special events Most importantly, we're looking for someone who is willing to work. We want someone who takes pride in their work, treats their team with respect, and is willing to jump in and get the job done. If you're a hands-on kitchen professional who likes to lead by example , we'd love to meet you. Schedule Full-time position with a variable schedule based on restaurant operations, weddings, banquets, and special events. Nights, weekends, and holidays will be required as scheduled. Experience Professional kitchen experience required. Banquet, catering, wedding, or kitchen leadership experience preferred.
