Responsibilities Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and quality standards, ensuring consistency and flavor. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, fryers, and slicers. Assist in menu planning by providing input on ingredient availability and preparation techniques. Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards at all times. Handle food safely by following proper food handling procedures, including storage, temperature control, and cross-contamination prevention. Support meal preparation for various service periods, including catering events when needed. Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate food production and ensure timely service. Qualifications Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is highly preferred. Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques and food preparation methods. Knowledge of safety standards in food production and food safety management practices. Experience with dietary department procedures or dietary aide roles is a plus. Ability to follow recipes accurately while maintaining high-quality standards. Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently. Excellent communication skills to collaborate seamlessly with kitchen team members. A passion for culinary arts combined with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
