Harrogate Village is seeking a dedicated and reliable cook to join our Culinary Team. The Cook plays a vital role in preparing meals for our residents as well as ensuring a safe and sanitary environment for meal preparation and service. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a passion for supporting the well-being of our residents. Duties Review menus and production estimates and prepare menu items following standard recipes. Extend or reduce recipes to reflect production estimates. Prepare modified diets for residents according to diet orders. Clean and sanitize worktables, ovens, griddles, mixers and other equipment after each use. Clean assigned items on cleaning schedules. Ensure proper disposal of food waste and recyclables. Ensure food storage areas are clean and organized. May help with unloading and stocking food deliveries. Report any malfunctions or safety hazards to the Kitchen Manager. Follow all safety and sanitation procedures according to company and health department standards. Ensure compliance with dietary restrictions and preferences of residents. Work closely with all kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient kitchen operations. Assist in other areas of the kitchen as needed. May act as "PIC" (person in charge) in the absence of the Culinary Services Director. Requirements Professional experience as a cook is required (experience in working in a healthcare kitchen environment is preferred). Ability to follow a standardized recipe. Knowledge of varied food preparation & cooking techniques. Knowledge of cleaning basic kitchen equipment and procedures. Ability to stand for long periods and perform physically demanding tasks. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
