Job Description

Cook Come join us at Cabrini of Westchester! We are a 304-bed, Faith-Based, Nonprofit, Short-Term Rehabilitation and Skilled Geriatric Care facility founded in 1974 in continuation of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini's legacy of serving those in need through works of healing, teaching, caring and giving. We are seeking to hire a Cook III. $26.03 per hour. Full-Time; Monday - Friday; 10am to 6pm plus Every Other Weekend.
Cook III Qualifications:
High School graduate or equivalent. Three years experience in quantity food production preferably in a health care facility. Batch cooking experience required. Knowledge of the operation of kitchen equipment including but not limited to: Food mixer, slicer, blender, buffalo chopper, food grinder, high-pressure steamer, stem jacketed kettles, convection and conventional ovens. Food Handler Certificate. Ability to speak, read and write English.
Cook III Job Summary:
Review preparation procedures for daily work assignment. Prepare food according to specified standards of production, nutrition and sanitation. Plate hot food during tray line service. Consult with Food Service Manager as to food production, disposal/reuse of leftover food and labeling. Maintain sanitary work area. Responsible for training workers in safe work practices and enforce organizational rules. This is a brief overview of job responsibilities and not intended to be all inclusive.
