Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Cook to join our team in a long term care environment. The ideal candidates will be responsible for preparing delicious and visually appealing meals according to our recipes. If you have a passion for food and want to work in a dynamic kitchen environment and serve the elderly population, we would love to hear from you. Responsibilities Maintains quality of food provided Provides quality service of dining areas Ensures compliance with sanitation Participates on designated committees and meetings Participates in menu planning Addresses resident, family and staff concerns Submits reports timely Follows established policies and procedures Prepares quality meals and baked goods as indicated by scheduled position Follows HACCP standards and procedures Trains new employee Assists in evaluation of Dietary Aides Other duties as assigned Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Cook in the food industry
  • Knowledge of various cooking methods and procedures
  • Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Very good communication skills
  • Excellent physical condition and stamina
Nice-to-have Skills:
  • Cooking in a long term care or health care setting
  • Food safety knowledge
