Responsibilities Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish. Assist with menu planning by suggesting new ideas and seasonal specials to keep offerings exciting. Handle food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning ingredients efficiently and safely. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper food handling and storage practices in compliance with food safety regulations. Support food service operations by plating dishes attractively and ensuring timely delivery to guests or dining areas. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy periods, supporting catering or special event needs when required. Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines to uphold a safe working environment for everyone. Qualifications Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable. Proven kitchen experience in restaurants or food industry settings demonstrating strong food handling and cooking skills. Knowledge of menu planning, meal preparation, and food safety standards essential for success in this role. Skilled in culinary techniques including knife skills, food presentation, and cooking methods. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent teamwork and communication skills to coordinate with kitchen staff and front-of-house personnel.
