  • Summary of Job Purpose:
  • Responsible for the production of quality meals and food for the staff, patients, visitors and for special functions. Population served based on scope of services in the department. Population served based on scope of services in the department.
  • Essential Job Responsibilities:
  • 1 Participate in Performance Improvement activities.
2 Preparing and gathering food to be cooked; chopping; peeling; mixing, etc. 3 Adhering to regulations relating to proper food temperature, cooling and thawing procedure. 4 Serving patients meals if needed. 5 Preparing patient and staff meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner). 6 Making sure work areas are clean, sanitary and well organized. 7 Prepare special desserts and food items for administrative functions. 8 Assist in putting away deliveries and organizing them. 9 Assist in menu planning for special functions and cafeteria. 10 Plays a role in cost containment, monitoring excess waste of food items. 11 Displays analytical and basic problem solving skills. Communicates problems to manager as appropriate. 12 Follows all time and attendance policies. 13 Attends educational programs provided by the Hospital or those which are outside the Hospital that are related to job responsibilities.

Education:
High School Diploma Experience:
Preferred 2 years prior institutional cooking experience.
