Job Description
Angie's Soul House is looking for an experienced, dependable Line Cook who can work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen. We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their station, follows recipes and portion standards, maintains consistency, and can remain organized and productive during busy service. This is not an entry-level position. Candidates should have professional kitchen experience and be comfortable working independently on the line. Pay $21-$24 per hour, based on experience, demonstrated skill, station versatility, consistency, and overall kitchen knowledge. The higher end of the range is reserved for experienced cooks who can successfully work multiple stations, perform well during high-volume service, and require minimal supervision. Responsibilities Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, measurements, portions, and quality standards. Set up, stock, organize, and maintain your assigned station. Execute multiple tickets accurately and efficiently during high-volume service. Maintain consistent taste, temperature, portion size, and presentation. Prepare proteins, vegetables, sauces, starches, and side dishes according to recipes and production needs. Monitor product levels and communicate prep or inventory needs before items run out. Follow proper food holding, cooling, labeling, dating, storage, and FIFO procedures. Follow portion controls and help minimize food waste. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation throughout the shift. Complete assigned prep, opening, closing, and cleaning responsibilities. Support other kitchen stations when needed. Follow all Angie's Soul House food-safety, sanitation, and kitchen standards. What We're Looking For Professional line-cook experience in a fast-paced restaurant kitchen. 2+ years of professional kitchen experience preferred. Ability to independently operate a busy line station. Ability to manage multiple tickets simultaneously. Experience with high-volume food preparation and batch cooking. Strong understanding of cooking temperatures, sanitation, food handling, and cross-contamination prevention. Ability to follow written recipes, measurements, and portion standards. Dependable attendance and punctuality. Strong communication and teamwork. Ability to work with urgency while maintaining food quality. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds. Evening, weekend, and holiday availability as scheduled.
