High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Culinary degree preferred. Six (6) months to one (1) year of related experience and/or training or one to two years of equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred. One (1) year of experience in quantity cooking is preferred. Servsafe certification preferred. What will I do as a Cook with McGregor? Read menus and spreadsheets, consult with Dining Services Supervisor as necessary regarding the preparation of food and use of leftovers. Follow daily requisitions for necessary foodstuffs. Plan preparation of foodstuff in advance to ensure all food is prepared when needed and in quantities specified to serve eye-appealing, tasty food items. (Food is thawed, fresh, and proper amounts available). Portion food and arrange prepared foods in an attractive and appetizing manner. Prepares hot entrees, soups, and vegetables according to standardized recipes and special diets. Following preparation sheets and recipes. Prepares in advance as indicated by checking the next day's menus, production sheets, and supplies.
