Overview We are seeking a dedicated Cook to prepare nutritious and appealing meals for children in a childcare setting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, preparing, and serving healthy food options that meet dietary guidelines and support the well-being of young children. This role requires attention to safety, cleanliness, and quality standards to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all children. Responsibilities Prepare and cook meals tailored to the dietary needs of children in accordance with approved menus and nutritional guidelines. Ensure all food is prepared safely, adhering to hygiene and sanitation standards. Plan menus that are balanced, nutritious, and appealing to young children. Store ingredients properly and manage inventory to minimize waste. Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, including utensils, appliances, and work surfaces. Follow all safety protocols related to food handling and preparation. Collaborate with childcare staff to accommodate special dietary requirements or allergies. Monitor food quality and presentation to ensure a positive dining experience for children. Skills Proven experience in cooking, preferably in a childcare or similar setting. Knowledge of child nutrition and dietary restrictions. Strong understanding of food safety standards and sanitation practices. Ability to plan menus that are both nutritious and appealing to children. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail. Good communication skills to coordinate with staff and caregivers. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
Pay:
$16.00 - $17.00 per hour Expected hours: 30.0 per week
