GENERAL DUTIES

Helps heat and serve meals and cleans up all facilities and equipment in an acceptable manner.

SPECIFIC DUTIES

Performs the duties assigned daily by the head cook. Assists in the preparation and service of all menu items. Cooperates with the head cook in meeting serving time deadlines. Maintains a clean and orderly work area. Assists in the instruction and direction of student help in the cafeteria. Stores food in a proper and sanitary manner. Practices all recommended sanitation procedures. Applicants must have a high school diploma or the equivalent. Basic math skills required. Computer skills are preferred or willingness to be trained. Operates all commercial kitchen appliances as needed. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste and smell. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. You must be capable of lifting no less than 30 pounds. Performs other related duties as requested by the Head Cook and/or Food Service Supervisor.
