Solid experienced line cook.

Meat Cheese Bread is looking for a dedicated line cook. We are offering a full or part time line position that includes doing some prep shifts and ringing up customers. This helps to keep the staff well rounded. We are looking to start your training right away.

MCB is a small and busy sandwich shop with an open kitchen and a tight knit crew. We've been on the Portland food scene for 17 years now and have well established ourselves in the up and coming Buckman neighborhood on SE Stark St. With a great neighborhood following and BEER, our bar next door, we see lots of familiar faces that are always glad to interact with the staff. This is a great gig for someone who has a desire to make delicious food, learn new skills to further their career in the culinary industry and have a great time doing it. Everyone in our staff is trained to work every position including the front counter, making it a great job to hone your skills. Must be confident managing prep, cooking and cleanup with minimal supervision. Ideal for someone who is organized, efficient and takes pride in their work. There is plenty of help available if you need it but you will often be solo on the small line.
