Innovo is seeking a dependable Part-Time Line Cook to help prepare and serve fresh, nutritious meals in our inpatient substance use and mental health treatment facility. Working under the direction of our Executive Chef, you'll support daily meal preparation, meal service, and kitchen cleanliness for an average of 35-48 patients daily . This is a hands-on cooking role where consistency, teamwork, and attention to detail matter. Our kitchen provides more than meals—it offers comfort and care to people at an important point in their recovery. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Prepare and cook meals according to established menus, recipes, portion guidelines, and dietary requirements. Complete daily prep tasks, including chopping ingredients, preparing side dishes, and organizing supplies for meal service. Ensure food is prepared safely, served at appropriate temperatures, and ready at scheduled mealtimes. Follow instructions for food allergies, special diets, and approved meal substitutions. Assist with plating, portioning, and serving meals. Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including washing dishes and cleaning equipment, work surfaces, and floors. Follow food safety, sanitation, labeling, dating, and storage procedures. Assist with receiving deliveries, rotating stock, and putting away food and supplies. Minimize food waste and communicate supply needs or shortages to the Executive Chef. Work cooperatively with kitchen staff and interact respectfully with patients and other team members. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Executive Chef or Executive Director. Required Skills and Abilities Working knowledge of basic cooking techniques, food preparation, and kitchen equipment. Ability to follow recipes, established menus, and dietary instructions. Strong organization and time-management skills to meet scheduled meal service times. Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and contribute as part of a team. Understanding of safe food handling and kitchen sanitation. Dependability, punctuality, and willingness to assist with all aspects of kitchen operations. Professional and compassionate demeanor in a treatment environment. Education and Experience High school diploma or GED required. Previous experience as a line cook, prep cook, or in a similar professional kitchen role preferred. Restaurant, healthcare, residential, or institutional food-service experience is a plus. ServSafe Certification preferred or must be obtained within 90 days of hire. Work Environment and Schedule Part-time position , with scheduled days and hours based on kitchen coverage needs. Alternating weekend availability required. Shifts generally conclude by 6:30 PM , with no late-night restaurant hours. Responsibilities may include preparation and service for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, depending on the assigned shift. Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds. Work is performed in a recovery-oriented healthcare facility.
