- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards.
- Set up and stock assigned kitchen stations before each shift.
- Maintain adequate levels of prepared ingredients throughout service.
- Cook food accurately, consistently, and efficiently while working grill, fryer, oven or other assigned kitchen stations during service.
- Read and follow food tickets, including modifications and allergy instructions.
- Coordinate with other kitchen staff to ensure orders are completed correctly and in a timely manner.
- Follow proper food-handling, cooking, cooling, reheating, and storage procedures.
- Monitor food temperatures and maintain appropriate hot- and cold-holding temperatures.
- Label, date, rotate, and properly store food using FIFO (First In, First Out).
- Follow established portion-control standards to help manage food costs and reduce waste.
- Notify management when ingredients, supplies, or prepared items are running low.
- Minimize food waste and report excessive waste, spoilage, or quality issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation throughout the shift.
- Clean and sanitize cooking equipment, utensils, work surfaces, and kitchen areas as required.
- Wash dishes and assist with general kitchen cleaning when necessary.
- Complete opening, shift-change, and closing duties.
- Properly break down, clean, and restock the station at the end of service.
- Follow all food-safety, sanitation, and employee hygiene requirements.
- Follow workplace safety procedures when using knives, fryers, grills, ovens, chemicals, and other kitchen equipment.
- Immediately report equipment problems, unsafe conditions, injuries, or food-safety concerns to management.
- Communicate professionally with bartenders, servers, managers, and other kitchen employees.
- Assist coworkers during high-volume periods and perform other kitchen duties as needed.
- Maintain professional conduct, reliability, punctuality, and appropriate workplace appearance.
- Follow all restaurant/brewery policies, recipes, procedures, and management instructions.
Qualifications Previous experience in dietary departments, dietary aide roles, or food service settings preferred Knowledge of menu planning, food preparation, and cooking techniques necessary for efficient kitchen operation Familiarity with food safety standards and proper food handling practices Strong knife skills and proficiency in meal preparation techniques required Experience in restaurant or culinary environments is highly desirable Ability to work collaboratively within a team while managing multiple tasks efficiently Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean, safe workspace
Pay:
$17.00 - $22.00 per hour Expected hours: 34.0 - 40.0 per week
