Job Description
PM Cook Position Summary The PM Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking food during the afternoon/evening shift while maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, cleanliness, and safety. The PM Cook works closely with the kitchen team to ensure orders are prepared accurately and efficiently during dinner service. Key Responsibilities Prepare and cook menu items according to restaurant recipes and standards. Set up and stock the kitchen and cooking stations before service. Prepare ingredients, sauces, proteins, vegetables, and other food items as needed. Cook food to the proper temperature and ensure consistent quality and portion sizes. Maintain an organized, clean, and sanitary workstation throughout the shift. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department requirements. Monitor food levels and communicate with the kitchen manager when supplies need replenishing. Properly store, label, and date food products. Assist with closing duties, including cleaning equipment, sanitizing work areas, and storing food. Work efficiently during busy dinner periods and maintain a positive, professional attitude. Follow instructions from the Chef, Kitchen Manager, or other supervisors. Help with other kitchen duties as needed. Qualifications Previous restaurant or line-cook experience preferred. Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and food safety practices. Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift kitchen supplies when necessary. Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required. Schedule Primarily afternoon/evening shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and move for extended periods. Ability to work around heat, steam, sharp equipment, and kitchen machinery. Ability to lift and carry food supplies and kitchen equipment as required.
