Responsibilities include:
Prepare high-quality food for weddings, corporate events, private functions, and signature Longwood Gardens events Execute both plated and buffet-style menus with consistency, precision, and attention to detail Assist with event setup, production, transportation, and on-site execution for internal and off-site events Maintain exceptional standards of food quality, presentation, and timing during service Work collaboratively with chefs, banquet teams, event managers, and front-of-house staff to ensure seamless guest experiences Assist with daily production, prep, inventory, receiving, and organization Maintain clean, organized workspaces while following all food safety and sanitation procedures Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently Support menu development, seasonal production, and special culinary projects as assigned What We're Looking For We're looking for cooks who thrive in a dynamic environment and enjoy bringing special events to life.
Ideal candidates have:
Previous catering, banquet, restaurant, hotel, or event cooking experience (preferred) Passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to remain calm and organized during high-volume service Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and varied event schedules Strong communication and teamwork skills Food Handler Certification (or ability to obtain one if required) Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods Frequently lift and carry up to 25 pounds; occasionally more with assistance Ability to transport equipment and supplies for event setup and breakdown Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions during seasonal events Ability to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen and event environment Be Part of Something Extraordinary Every event tells a story.
