Your responsibilities will include:
Start Smart:
Review production sheets before preparing meals to stay organized and on track.Plan Ahead:
Pull ingredients from the freezer in advance to ensure safe and timely thawing. Follow withPrecision:
Prepare meals using standardized recipes and department guidelines to ensure consistency and quality.Cook Efficiently:
Track tallies accurately to produce just the right amount, avoiding waste and missed items. Focus onFlavor:
Taste as you go to ensure meals are not only safe and nutritious, but delicious and beautifully presented.Support All Areas:
Make sure all units, including Health Center, Personal Care, and Green Houses®, have what they need for every meal. Evening cooks follow a call log to double-check before clocking out.Communicate Clearly:
Notify the Sous Chef of any concerns with prep, service, storage, or inventory.Practice Safe Cooking:
Follow all food safety protocols from prep to storage, including proper labeling and discarding of outdated items.Log It Right:
Accurately complete daily logs including Cooling, Vegetable Wash, Temperature, and Waste Not reports. Clean asYou Go:
Maintain a tidy, sanitized workstation during your shift and leave it spotless at the end.Stay Safe:
