Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Dietary Aide to support our culinary and dietary services team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food handling, meal preparation, and maintaining safety standards within a healthcare or food service environment. As a Dietary Aide, you will play a vital role in assisting with food service operations, ensuring that all meals are prepared and served according to safety and quality standards, while providing excellent support to residents or clients. This position offers an engaging opportunity to contribute to a compassionate and efficient food service team dedicated to promoting health and well-being. Duties Assist in preparing, portioning, and serving meals in accordance with dietary guidelines and safety standards. Support menu planning by organizing ingredients and ensuring availability of necessary supplies for meal preparation. Follow proper food handling procedures, including knife skills, slicing techniques, and hygiene practices to ensure food safety. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas in compliance with safety regulations. Help with food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, mixing, and assembling ingredients for various dishes. Support catering activities by setting up food stations and serving meals at special events or resident gatherings. Adhere to all safety standards in production, including proper storage of food items and temperature controls. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal delivery while maintaining high-quality service standards. Experience Previous experience in dietary departments or food service environments is highly desirable. Experience working as a dietary aide or in a similar role within healthcare or institutional settings. Knowledge of menu planning, meal preparation, and food industry best practices. Familiarity with safety standards related to food handling, sanitation, and kitchen operations. Hands-on experience with culinary tasks such as cooking, slicing techniques, and knife skills. Background in restaurant or catering environments is advantageous for understanding customer service dynamics. Demonstrated ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in food safety management.
