Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and energetic Part Time Cook to join our dynamic culinary team. As a key contributor to our food service operation, you will play an essential role in meal preparation, food safety, and ensuring an exceptional dining experience. Duties Prepare and cook a variety of menu items with precision, adhering to established recipes and presentation standards Assist in menu planning and ingredient selection to ensure freshness and quality Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including grills, ovens, poaching stations, braising pots, and food production appliances Follow strict food safety sanitizing procedures to maintain cleanliness and prevent contamination Handle food with care, practicing proper food handling techniques to meet health regulations Support dietary department needs by preparing specialized meals and accommodating dietary restrictions Maintain high-volume production standards while ensuring consistency and timely service Assist with food plating, garnishing, and presentation to enhance visual appeal Collaborate with team members during catering events or large-scale meal preparations Qualifications Previous experience as a dietary aide or in food service Strong knowledge of menu planning, food preparation, and culinary techniques such as grilling, braising, poaching, and knife skills Experience working in Long Term Care environments preferred Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently Knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures required Ability to follow recipes accurately and maintain consistency across all dishes Excellent food handling skills with attention to detail in meal presentation and quality control Prior catering or food industry experience is a plus Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced setting Join us to bring your culinary talents to life while making a positive impact through delicious meals! Pay:
$16.00 per hour Expected hours: 16.0 - 24.0 per week
