Responsibilities Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus, recipes, and dietary guidelines, ensuring consistency and quality. Plan menus that meet nutritional standards and accommodate special dietary restrictions of residents. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, poaching pots, braising pans, and food processors. Follow food safety sanitizing procedures rigorously to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment. Handle food with care, adhering to proper food handling techniques to prevent contamination. Assist with food production for high-volume meal service, maintaining pace during busy periods. Support dietary department operations by assisting with food prep, portioning, and presentation for optimal meal appeal. Experience Prior experience as a dietary aide or in a food service role within healthcare or senior care settings preferred. Demonstrated ability in menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal preparation for large-scale or fine dining environments. Knowledge of food safety management practices including sanitizing procedures and proper food handling protocols. Experience operating commercial kitchen equipment such as grills, braising pans, poaching devices, and food processors. Background in food industry roles such as restaurant or catering experience that highlights high-volume production skills. Strong knife skills and familiarity with various cooking techniques including grilling, braising, poaching, and other culinary methods. Ability to follow detailed recipes accurately while maintaining efficiency during high-volume meal production.
