Job Description

Are you looking for an opportunity to work with Tennessee State Parks (TSP)? We have an outstanding opportunity to work in a beautiful work environment at Montgomery Bell State Park located in Burns, TN. The Lodge at Montgomery Bell offers a full-service restaurant, lounge, and catering facilities. The Lodge is a preferred destination for business meetings and conferences as well as a vacation destination for families. This position is responsible for leading the daily shifts in the kitchen preparing meals for the restaurant and banquet meetings. The preferred candidate will have knowledge of commercial kitchens and experience in high-volume restaurant operations. A ServSafe certification is required for this position within 90 days of employment. Candidates should have the ability to shift back and forth between two or more activities and the ability to exert muscle force to lift, push, pull or carry objects. The position requires work on weekends and holidays on a rotating basis. Candidates must meet the minimum qualifications (MQs) for this position. Candidates must meet the minimum qualifications (MQs) for this position: High School diploma plus 4 years experience preparing food in a kitchen serving both restaurant and catering operations. A substitution of education or experience: a bachelor's degree in culinary arts or food and beverage management is preferred and can substitute on a year-by-year basis for the required experience, up to 3 years.
Highlighted Responsibilities:
Operate a variety of commercial grade kitchen appliances. Cleans, cuts, cooks (by roasting, broiling, baking, and frying) meat, fish, poultry, and vegetables. Bake breads, rolls, cakes, pies, and pastries. Coaches and trains new or less experienced workers in the kitchen. Prepare restaurant meals and food for catered events. Prioritize food prep tasks based on knowledge and time needed to cook and prepare food items. Maintain a clean and functional kitchen that exceeds the Department of Health expectations.

$34,752.00 per year
