We're looking for someone who knows how to prepare authentic, flavorful soul food and takes pride in serving high-quality meals. The right person should be comfortable working in a restaurant kitchen, preparing food from scratch, maintaining a clean workspace, and helping us deliver great food and excellent customer service. Responsibilities Prepare authentic soul food dishes with great flavor and consistency Cook meats, vegetables, sides, and other daily menu items Follow recipes and portion-control guidelines Prepare food for daily service and special orders Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen Properly store and label food Follow food safety and sanitation requirements Monitor food quality and freshness Help with kitchen prep and closing duties Work efficiently during busy restaurant hours Communicate well with management and other kitchen staff Preferred Qualifications Previous soul food or restaurant cooking experience preferred Strong knowledge of Southern/Soul Food cuisine Ability to cook from scratch Reliable and dependable Able to work in a fast-paced kitchen Good time-management skills ServSafe or food-handler certification is a plus Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
