A big part of this job is working with customers, so we're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys talking to people . Someone who can greet customers, carry a conversation, answer questions, and make people feel welcome. We see both regulars and new faces every weekend, and we want someone who can help create the friendly atmosphere at BOTA's. Depending on your shift, you'll help open or close , and some food prep and cooking will be necessary. You don't need to be a chef, but you should be comfortable learning our menu and jumping between the front window, putting orders together, and helping with food when needed. Responsibilities Run the service window, take orders, build orders, and keep things moving during busy breakfast, lunch, and dinner periods. Greet customers, answer questions, help with menu selections, make recommendations, and create a friendly experience at the window. Be comfortable talking with customers beyond simply taking their order
- carry a conversation, and get to know our regulars. Operate the POS/cash register and handle cash and card transactions accurately. Prepare and serve menu items according to our recipes and standards, including breakfast, lunch and dinner items, and other basic cooking and food prep. Depending on a shift
- help open the food truck and prepare for service, including setting up, stocking, prepping food, and getting the truck ready for customers. Depending on a shift
- help close the food truck at the end of the day, including cleaning and sanitizing equipment, breaking down stations, and restocking.
Check orders before they go out to make sure they are complete and prepared correctly. Communicate with the kitchen and other team members to keep orders organized and service running smoothly. Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the food truck and keep work areas properly sanitized. Help with food prep, dishes, restocking, cleaning, and other tasks during slower periods. Follow food safety, sanitation, and health department requirements. Pay attention to what needs to be done, work together with the rest of the team and be willing to help wherever needed. Able to stay friendly and organized even when we get busy. Self-motivated and productive during slower periods. Team-oriented and willing to jump between customer service, food prep, cooking, cleaning, and restocking. Previous restaurant, café, food service, retail, or customer service experience is preferred. Basic math skills for handling transactions. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices is a plus. Willing to learn and adapt as needed. Able to stand for long periods and lift/move up to 50 lbs. Experience is great, but personality, reliability, and how you treat people matter just as much to us.
