Job Description

Blackwater Cafe is under new ownership. We're an upscale steak and seafood restaurant in a casual, lodge-style setting at Smith Mountain Lake, and we're looking to grow our kitchen staff to accommodate expanded hours. Full-time and part-time. Work ethic and drive matter more to us than a long résumé but you do need at least a year of kitchen experience. Who we're looking for Driven. You show up ready to work and you want to get better every shift. Determined. You finish what you start, and you finish it right. Calm and composed under stress. When the tickets stack up on a Saturday night, you keep your head and keep the line moving. A high-level performer. You hold yourself to a high standard and take pride in every plate that leaves your station. Collaborative. You love being a part of a team and you put the team's interests before your own. What you'll do Set up and run your station, and cook and plate to our recipes and standards Hit ticket times and communicate with the line and the pass Keep your station stocked, clean, and food-safe, and help with prep and closing Growing with us If you have experience as a lead cook, sous chef, or kitchen manager, we'd like to hear about it. There's room to grow here. Requirements At least 1 year of experience working in a professional kitchen Nights and weekends are a must. We're open Tuesday through Sunday, including Saturday gamedays and Sunday brunch. Able to stand for a full shift, work in a hot kitchen, and lift up to 50 pounds
Pay:
$18.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 - 40.0 per week
