Job Overview Join our vibrant culinary team as a BBQ Pitt Assistant & Prep Cook, where your passion for smoky flavors and food preparation will shine! In this energetic role, you'll support the pit master and kitchen staff by assisting with food prep, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety. Your enthusiasm and culinary skills will help deliver mouthwatering barbecue experiences that keep guests coming back for more. This paid position offers a dynamic environment where teamwork, creativity, and dedication are celebrated every day. Duties Assist with preparing ingredients for smoking, grilling, and plating barbecue dishes according to established recipes and standards Support the pit master in managing the smoker and other kitchen equipment to ensure optimal cooking conditions Maintain cleanliness of all work areas, including prep stations, cooking equipment, and storage spaces, adhering to strict sanitation standards Handle food safely by following proper food handling procedures and safety guidelines throughout all stages of meal preparation Operate kitchen tools such as knives with precision, employing slicing techniques that ensure efficiency and safety Contribute to menu planning by suggesting new ideas or modifications based on ingredient availability and customer preferences Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and smooth service flow during busy periods Requirements Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is preferred but not required; a strong interest in culinary arts is essential Demonstrated experience in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant settings showcasing familiarity with food industry standards Knowledge of safety standards in production environments, including proper food handling and sanitation practices Ability to operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including smokers, grills, knives, and slicing tools Excellent communication skills for effective coordination with kitchen team members Culinary experience or training that highlights proficiency in recipe adherence, meal prep, and catering is highly desirable Strong attention to detail in following food safety protocols and maintaining high-quality presentation standards Embark on a flavorful journey with us—where your skills will help craft unforgettable barbecue experiences while you grow your culinary expertise in a lively team environment!
Pay:
$14.00 - $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 28.0 per week
