Season and cook food according to recipes or personal judgment and experience. Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes or personal judgment, using various kitchen utensils and equipment. Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters. Observe and test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently, using methods such as tasting, smelling, or piercing them with utensils. Ensure proper presentation to provide maximum appeal and freshness. Maintain production knowledge and attention to detail with taste and quality. Produce products in a cost-effective and hygienic manner. Adhere to departmental uniform standards. Follow food storage principles and hierarchy per food code. Constantly strive to improve operating procedures. Properly label and date all products to ensure rotation, safekeeping, and sanitation. Ensure food quality is superior and take action to correct any irregularities. Ensure kitchen equipment is properly maintained and functioning. Work with others to ensure the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen. What You'll Bring Ability to obtain a Class III B gaming license. 2 (two) years certificate from an accredited culinary program or minimum 2 years' experience in a similar food service facility required. Valid WA State Health Card/Food Handler permit required. How You'll Be Successful Knowledge of all applicable food sanitation regulations. Knowledge of health & safety standards, and safety regulations as required. Skilled in handling kitchen utensils including but not limited to knives. Skilled in basic math skills; demonstrate ability to understand, calculate and follow recipe measurements and proportions. Read, write, and speak English fluently. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment. Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing. Ability to follow procedures and take directions.
