Mirror Lake Village Senior Living Community, is seeking a dedicated Cook to join our team. At Brightwater, we are proud to offer the highest quality dining, engagement, and health support services. Position Summary The Cook is responsible for preparing nutritious, appetizing, and visually appealing meals while ensuring the efficient and safe operation of the kitchen and dining areas. This role involves teamwork, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing exceptional service to our residents, guests, and coworkers. Key Responsibilities Prepare meals according to Brightwater menus and recipes, adhering to dietary requirements and physician orders. Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen and dining environment. Inspect food preparation and serving areas to ensure compliance with food safety practices. Bake, roast, broil, and steam various foods, and regulate cooking equipment temperatures. Portion, arrange, and garnish food attractively and in a timely manner. Carry out scheduled cleaning, stocking, and maintenance tasks as directed by the Chef. Receive, prepare, and serve food and beverage orders in the bistro. Attend scheduled training sessions and staff meetings. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors, keeping them informed of any challenges or opportunities for improvement. Qualifications Minimum of 2 years' cooking experience in institutional or full-service restaurant settings. Ability to follow recipes, perform measurements, and adjust quantities as needed. Demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal. Current Food Handlers Permit (as required by state regulations).
