St. Mary's Parish School The Role at a glance: We are looking to add an experienced, motivated Lead Cook to our Elior School Dining team at St. Mary's Parish School in Hales Corners, WI. This is a hands-on position ideal for someone who enjoys working in a school environment and is comfortable supporting all aspects of daily food service operations. What you'll be doing: As the Lead Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking meals, serving students and staff, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, and completing light administrative duties as needed. Prepare and cook meals according to established menus, recipes, and portion standards. Serve meals to students and staff while providing friendly, professional service. Assist with daily setup and breakdown of food service areas. Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, workstations, serving areas, and dishes. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and company procedures. Monitor food production, inventory, and portion control to help manage costs and reduce waste. Provide direction and support to food service team members as needed. Complete light administrative duties, including basic paperwork, production records, inventory documentation, and other daily operational tasks. What we're looking for:
Must-haves:
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous cooking or food service experience. Ability to cook, serve, clean, and support all areas of daily food service operations. Strong multitasking, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently. Basic computer and administrative skills. Commitment to food safety and sanitation standards.
Nice-to-haves:
Previous experience working in a school, institutional, or high-volume food service environment. Culinary training or an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in culinary arts or a related field. Where you'll be working: St. Mary's Parish School Compensation Range $18 - $20 / hour based on experience.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-2:00
PM Hours:
6 hours per day
