Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Cook to join our Sunset Ridge team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking various dishes in a timely and efficient manner while following proper food safety and sanitation procedures. Must be able to maintain a calm demeaner at all times.Duties:
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, peeling, and chopping
- Cook food according to recipes or as per the chef's instructions
- Ensure all dishes are prepared and presented in accordance with standard recipes and presentations
- Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash, and organizing supplies
- Assist with menu planning and special events as needed
Experience:
- Previous experience in a professional kitchen environment
- Knowledge of food service techniques and practices
- Familiarity with knife handling, food safety standards, and proper food handling procedures
- Experience in an assisted living community setting is preferred, but willing to train
- Ability to work well in a team environment and follow instructions accurately
- We are looking at moving to 12 hour shifts, 3 days per week, with a 4th day being a 4 hour shift and rotating every other weekend.
