About the shop WRPD is an automotive styling and protection shop in Chatsworth. We do paint protection film, vinyl wraps, ceramic coating, window tint, and detailing. The cars in our bay range from daily drivers to sports cars, exotics, high end luxury, and commercial vans. We are hiring a full time detailer. This is not a car wash job. We are looking for someone who understands paint, knows what a machine polisher is actually doing to a clear coat, and takes pride in how a car looks under good lighting. What you will be doing Washing and prepping vehicles, including proper two bucket technique, wheels and tires, and drying without inducing scratches Clay bar and chemical decontamination, iron removal, tar and overspray removal Machine polishing, buffing, and multi stage paint correction Selecting the right compound, polish, and pad combination for the paint you are working on Applying ceramic coatings, including panel prep, IPA or panel wipe, correct flash times, and catching high spots before they cure Interior detailing top to bottom, including upholstery shampoo and extraction, leather cleaning and conditioning, plastics, glass, and vents Removing wheels for deep cleaning, barrel cleaning, and wheel face and barrel ceramic coating Engine bay cleaning when the job calls for it Prepping vehicles for our PPF, wrap, and tint installers, since a bad prep ruins their install Final inspection under proper lighting before the car goes back to the customer Photographing vehicles before and after, both for our content and to document any pre existing damage Keeping your bay, tools, pads, and chemicals clean and organized What we are looking for Real detailing experience. If you have run a machine polisher on customer cars and understand what you are doing, we want to talk. Comfortable with a machine polisher. Tell us what you have run: rotary, dual action, forced rotation, and which brands. You understand compounds and polishes. You should be able to explain why you would reach for a heavy cut on one car and a finishing polish on another, and what pad you would pair with each. You know how to not burn paint. Edges, body lines, plastic trim, thin clear, soft clear. If you have never checked paint thickness or worked around a resprayed panel, say so honestly. Ceramic coating experience, or at minimum a clear understanding of the prep and application process. Comfortable removing and reinstalling wheels safely, including proper jack points, torque, and care around TPMS sensors and calipers. Team player. Takes constructive criticism well. Attention to detail. Reliable and on time. Pay and schedule $20 to $30 per hour depending on skill level and experience. Where you land in that range is based on what you can actually do. Someone who can wash, prep, and handle interiors well starts at the lower end. Someone who can run a multi stage correction on a black car and lay a coating clean starts near the top. We will figure out where you fit during the trial and we will be straight with you about it. Full time, Monday through Friday, standard shop hours. Occasional Saturday when the schedule is heavy. Trial day Anyone we are seriously considering will come in for a trial day so we can see how you work: how you handle the wash and prep, how you run the machine, how you leave your area, and how the car looks when you say it is done.
