Job Description
Overview Join our team as a Mechanic Shop Assistant and gain valuable hands-on experience in a fast-paced automotive repair environment! In this role, you will support our mechanics with daily shop operations, help maintain a clean and organized workspace, handle tools and parts, and assist with basic vehicle services under supervision. This paid position is an excellent opportunity for a dependable, hardworking individual who is interested in learning more about automotive repair and growing within the industry. Duties Assist mechanics with vehicle repairs, maintenance, and inspections as directed Perform basic automotive services, such as oil changes, tire rotations, fluid checks, and battery replacement, based on experience and training Move vehicles safely in and around the shop and parking area Retrieve, organize, and deliver tools, equipment, and automotive parts Keep service bays, work areas, tools, and equipment clean and properly organized Help receive parts deliveries and verify, label, and store incoming inventory Clean vehicles and remove protective materials after service is completed Assist with shop cleanup, waste disposal, and proper handling of used fluids and automotive materials Follow all workplace safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment Support other daily shop duties as assigned Requirements Basic automotive knowledge or a strong interest in learning automotive repair Previous experience in a mechanic shop, dealership, tire shop, or similar environment is preferred but not required Must be dependable, punctual, organized, and willing to follow instructions Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds and remain physically active throughout the workday Comfortable working around vehicles, tools, fluids, noise, heat, and other normal shop conditions Strong attention to detail and commitment to keeping the workplace clean and safe A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record are preferred Must treat customers, coworkers, vehicles, tools, and company property with professionalism and care Bilingual English and Spanish skills are a plus but not required Start building your automotive career with a supportive team that values reliability, safety, and a willingness to learn.
