Job Overview We are looking for a reliable and motivated Dishwasher/Food Prep team member to join our busy kitchen. In this role, you'll be a key player in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment while supporting food preparation activities. Your work helps ensure that meals are prepared safely, efficiently, and to high standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, enjoys working in a team, and has a passion for food safety and cleanliness. Responsibilities Wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment promptly to keep the kitchen running smoothly. Assist in basic food preparation tasks such as slicing ingredients, portioning, and assembling simple dishes following recipes and safety standards. Maintain cleanliness of workstations, including sanitizing surfaces and disposing of waste properly. Operate kitchen equipment safely, including dishwashers, slicers, and other small appliances as trained. Support the culinary team with meal prep activities to ensure timely service during busy hours. Follow all food safety protocols related to handling food and maintaining hygiene standards in the kitchen. Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate cleaning schedules and food prep tasks. Experience Prior experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is a plus but not required. Experience working in food service or restaurant environments is beneficial. Knowledge of food handling safety standards and proper sanitation practices is preferred. Familiarity with menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal preparation techniques is advantageous. Basic knife skills and slicing techniques are helpful for supporting food prep activities. Previous experience operating kitchen equipment such as dishwashers or slicers is desirable. A background in catering or culinary environments can enhance your ability to support diverse food service needs.
