PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES A. TECHNICAL
Activity:
Performs tasks to ensure the timely preparation and delivery of nutritious and meals and supplements to all residents. Ensures meals and supplements are prepared and served according to Physician's Orders and in compliance with Federal, State, and Company requirements.
B. ADMINISTRATIVE
Attends all meetings and in-services as required. Reports problems and needs to Supervisor in a timely manner. Promotes teamwork and cooperation with other staff.
C. CONSUMER SERVICE
Presents professional image to consumers through dress, behavior, and speech. Adheres to Company standards for resolving consumer concerns. Ensures that all consumer and resident rights are protected.
D. QUALIFICATIONS
Good verbal and written communication skills necessary. Ability to read and understand English for business necessity. Basic understanding of sanitation, organization, and safety. Prior experience in food service preferred. Prior experience in long-term healthcare preferred.
Requirements:
STANDARD OF PERFORMANCE A. TECHNICAL
Activity:
Prepares and/or portions foods and/or beverages according to procedures. Set trays according to diet restrictions. Assists cook in final service of meals according to dietary needs. Transports trays to and from designated area. Cleans, disinfects, and stores dishes, utensils, pots, and flatware as instructed. Disposes of trash and cleans work area thoroughly. Performs routine cleaning/maintenance of dietary service equipment as instructed. Stacks supplies as instructed. Uses and stores kitchen equipment in a safe manner.

Attends departmental meetings as required. Participates in all training education and in-services as required. Reports problems in work area to Supervisor in a timely manner.

C. CONSUMER SERVICE
Activity:
Reports for duty in approved dress and maintains high standard of personal hygiene. Refrains from rude and discourteous behavior toward consumers and co-workers. Limits eating and/or smoking to designated areas. Takes breaks during assigned times and in designated place. Speaks, writes and understands English for business necessity.
Follows consumer service standards for:
Making contact with residents; and Greeting visitors.
