Job Overview Join our dynamic culinary team as a Dishwasher/Food Prep specialist, where your energy and attention to detail will play a vital role in delivering exceptional dining experiences. In this role, you will ensure the cleanliness and safety of all kitchenware and food preparation areas while assisting with meal preparation and food handling. Your proactive approach will help maintain a smooth kitchen operation, supporting chefs and dietary staff in creating delicious, nutritious meals that meet safety standards and dietary guidelines. Duties Wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment thoroughly to uphold hygiene standards. Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as slicing, chopping, and portioning ingredients following established recipes and safety protocols. Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen by sanitizing work surfaces, floors, and storage areas regularly. Operate kitchen equipment safely, including dishwashers, slicers, mixers, and other culinary tools. Support meal preparation by organizing ingredients and assisting culinary staff with food assembly as needed. Follow strict food safety guidelines related to handling, storage, and sanitation to prevent contamination. Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate workflow and ensure timely meal service. Experience Previous experience working in a food service environment such as restaurants or catering is highly desirable. Experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is a plus, demonstrating familiarity with special dietary needs and menu planning. Knowledge of food safety management practices and adherence to safety standards in production is essential. Skills in food industry techniques including knife skills, slicing techniques, and recipe adherence are beneficial. Prior experience operating kitchen equipment like dishwashers or slicers helps ensure efficiency and safety in daily tasks. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with kitchen staff and understanding of food handling procedures are important. Exposure to culinary environments involving meal prep, catering services, or restaurant operations will support success in this role.
