Job Description
Effingham Country Club has provided our members and guests with the best experiences possible in golf, dining and at our pool since 1923. In addition, we are an ideal location for golf outings and special social occasions.
Job Summary:
Effingham Country Club is looking for a reliable Prep Cook / Dishwasher to assist with daily food preparation and kitchen organization. This role is essential in helping the kitchen operate efficiently by preparing ingredients, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting the culinary team for daily service and events. This position will work mainly daytime shifts through the week with some weekends required.Duties/Responsibilities:
- Prepare ingredients including chopping, slicing, portioning, and mixing
- Assist with salad bar, sauces, soups, dressings, and other prep items
- Follow recipes and preparation standards established by the chef
- Properly label, date, and rotate food products using FIFO procedures
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of prep areas, coolers, and storage spaces
- Receive and properly store deliveries and inventory
- Assist line cooks and chefs during service when needed
- Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures
- Help with daily opening and closing kitchen responsibilities
- Support banquet and event preparation as needed
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Previous kitchen or food prep experience preferred but not required
- Ability to work efficiently and stay organized
- Strong attention to detail and consistency
- Team-oriented attitude and willingness to learn
- Availability for mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Education/Experience:
- High school or equivalent (preferred)
Food Service:
1 year (preferred)Restaurant Experience:
1 year (preferred)Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking
- Must be able to lift, balance and carry trays of food weighing up to 50 pounds
