Work Environment:
We are a fun, fast paced restaurant. We pride ourselves in providing an authentic Ocean City dining experience featuring sand and palm trees in our outdoor dining area and a cool and relaxed space indoors. The Taustin family has been operating businesses in Ocean City for over 80 years, giving its customers and employees a family-oriented atmosphere. Due to most of our venues being an outdoor, dishwashers while primarily indoors. are expected to work in summer beach temperatures and are exposed to all the elements mother nature has to offer. You may be expected to regularly navigate the stairs when completing tasks relevant to your position. While performing the core functions of a Dishwasher,the employee is usually indoors, in a controlled, high pace environment which at times can be noisy and hot.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Maintains a clean kitchen, properly washes and sorts soiled dishes, and preps foods as needed. Keeps dish area free of clutter and organized. Sets up dish stations, including dish machines and sinks. Maintains clean / dry floors throughout the shift. Properly washes, stacks, and stores china, glassware, silverware, cookware, and storage containers. Changes water of machines and sinks every two hours, or more often as required by business levels, and properly uses chemical dilutions set by EcoLab. Assists in the timely storing of food deliveries. Maintains trash cans throughout shift and removes full trashcans and boxes at the end of each shift. Maintains the dry storage area and the organization of storage shelves. Follows the posted daily dish cleaning duties. Assists in food prep and any other duties set forth or requested by the chef as needed.
Qualifications:
Education and/or
Experience:
Customer service Hospitality-related kitchen experience preferred Planning and multi-tasking Self-motivated with a high energy level Verbal communication
Physical Demands:
Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours) Be able to safely lift and easily maneuver items/boxes of up to 50lbs independently
Computer/Technology Skills:
None Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
High school diploma or GED Current servsafe certification preferred but not required
Language/Communication Skills:
Basic written and verbal communication skills Basic reading skills Accuracy and speed in executing tasks Organizational skills Ability to work as a team member Follows directions and instructions
