Responsibilities Thoroughly wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment following food safety sanitizing procedures. Operate dishwashing machines and other kitchen equipment safely and effectively. Handle manual lifting of heavy items such as large pots or crates of supplies while adhering to proper manual handling techniques. Maintain high standards of sanitation and cleanliness throughout the kitchen area in accordance with kitchen health and safety standards. Support food handling procedures by ensuring all items are stored properly and hygiene standards are upheld at all times. Qualifications Prior experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential. Knowledge of food safety management and sanitation practices is a plus. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during busy service hours. Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment such as dishwashers or sanitizing stations is advantageous. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining cleanliness and safety standards. Good manual handling skills and physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
