Duties Operate commercial dishwashing equipment efficiently to ensure all dishes, utensils, and kitchenware are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized according to food safety procedures. Assist with basic food preparation tasks and support the kitchen team in maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Bypass dirty dishes from service stations, bussing tables as needed to support smooth customer flow. Follow strict sanitation protocols for cleaning surfaces, tools, and equipment to uphold health standards and prevent contamination. Handle manual tasks such as heavy lifting of pots, pans, and bulk supplies while adhering to proper manual handling techniques for safety. Support food safety management by adhering to proper food handling procedures and maintaining cleanliness in all areas of the kitchen. Operate kitchen equipment safely and responsibly, including dishwashers, sinks, and other small appliances used in food service environments. Qualifications Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is highly preferred. Knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures and sanitation standards within a commercial kitchen setting. Ability to perform manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting safely. Basic understanding of operating kitchen equipment such as dishwashers, sinks, and prep tools. Strong attention to detail with a focus on cleanliness, hygiene, and safety compliance. Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment. Kitchen experience including knife skills or food preparation knowledge is a plus but not required.
