Responsibilities Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to thoroughly clean dishes, glassware, utensils, and cookware while adhering to food safety sanitizing procedures. Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including basic ingredient handling and setup to support kitchen staff. Bypass dirty dishes from dining areas or food stations to ensure timely cleaning and turnover. Maintain cleanliness of the dishwashing area, including sinks, counters, and storage spaces, following sanitation standards. Support bussing duties by clearing tables and transporting used dishware to the dishwashing station efficiently. Follow all kitchen health and safety standards to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues. Handle manual tasks such as heavy lifting of large pots or crates of supplies with proper technique to prevent injury. Requirements Prior experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential. Knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitation procedures is highly desirable. Ability to operate commercial dishwashing machines and other kitchen equipment safely and effectively. Strong manual handling skills with the physical stamina to perform heavy lifting regularly. Familiarity with kitchen health and safety standards, including proper food handling and sanitation protocols. Excellent attention to detail to ensure all dishes are cleaned thoroughly and hygiene standards are maintained. Previous banquet or catering experience is a plus but not required; a positive attitude and team spirit are essential!
