THE ROLE
We are looking for dependable, hardworking Dishwashers to join the Avestruz Toledo team. As a Dishwasher, you'll help keep the kitchen and restaurant running smoothly by maintaining a steady flow of clean dishes, glassware, cookware, utensils, and equipment. You'll also help maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen throughout the shift. This is a fast-paced, physical role that requires energy, reliability, attention to detail, and teamwork.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Operate the dishwashing machine and/or wash dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment according to proper procedures. Maintain a continuous flow of clean dishes and equipment during service. Properly scrape, sort, wash, rinse, sanitize, dry, and store dishes and equipment. Keep dish areas clean, organized, and properly stocked. Return clean equipment, pans, utensils, and dishes to their designated locations. Assist cooks and other kitchen team members by ensuring they have the equipment and supplies needed for service. Keep floors, sinks, walls, shelves, drains, and surrounding areas clean and sanitary. Empty trash and recycling and replace liners as needed. Maintain proper organization of cleaning supplies and equipment. Assist with receiving, stocking, and organizing kitchen supplies when requested. Follow all food-safety, sanitation, chemical-handling, and personal-hygiene procedures. Handle knives, glassware, cookware, and cleaning chemicals safely. Assist with opening, closing, deep-cleaning, and other kitchen duties as assigned. Communicate equipment shortages, broken items, sanitation concerns, or other issues to kitchen leadership. Support cooks and the entire kitchen team during high-volume service. Maintain a positive, respectful, team-oriented attitude throughout the shift.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Previous restaurant, dishwasher, kitchen, or hospitality experience is helpful but not required. Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential. Strong work ethic and willingness to stay productive throughout the shift. Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a busy environment. Ability to follow instructions and established sanitation procedures. Ability to work well as part of a team. Positive attitude and willingness to help wherever needed. Ability to stay organized in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to learn and accept coaching. Attention to cleanliness and detail. No restaurant experience? That's okay. We're looking for people who are dependable, hardworking, willing to learn, and ready to contribute to the team.

PHYSICAL & SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS
Ability to stand and move for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to approximately 50 pounds. Ability to bend, reach, squat, lift, push, and pull throughout the shift. Ability to work in a hot, wet, and fast-paced kitchen environment. Ability to safely handle hot water, cleaning chemicals, dishes, glassware, and kitchen equipment. Ability to work safely on wet floors and around commercial kitchen equipment. Availability for evenings, weekends, holidays, opening and closing shifts, and special events based on business needs.
