Job Description
Dishwasher Job Summary The Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized kitchen by washing dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment. The Dishwasher also assists the kitchen team with basic cleaning and sanitation duties to ensure the restaurant meets cleanliness and food-safety standards. Responsibilities
- Wash and sanitize dishes, glasses, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment.
- Operate the commercial dishwasher and follow proper washing and sanitizing procedures.
- Keep the dishwashing area clean, organized, and free of clutter.
- Take out garbage and recycling as needed.
- Sweep and mop kitchen floors and clean kitchen surfaces.
- Clean sinks, dish racks, trash cans, and other assigned areas.
- Restock clean dishes, utensils, and supplies in their proper locations.
- Assist kitchen staff with basic cleaning and preparation tasks when needed.
- Follow all restaurant health, safety, and sanitation standards.
- Handle cleaning chemicals safely and according to instructions.
- Report broken equipment, damaged dishes, or safety hazards to the manager.
- Work efficiently during busy periods and maintain a positive attitude.
- Perform other duties assigned by the manager or kitchen supervisor. Qualifications
- No previous experience required; restaurant experience is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks.
- Ability to lift and carry kitchen items when necessary.
- Reliable, punctual, and responsible.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Willingness to follow instructions and maintain high cleanliness standards.
