Stone Soup PDX is a nonprofit culinary workforce training organization that uses food as a vehicle for creating employment opportunities and supporting our community. Our production kitchen prepares meals for community partners throughout the Portland area.

We are looking for a reliable, hardworking Dishwasher / Prep Cook to join our Production Kitchen team. This is a part-time, Monday through Friday position with consistent afternoon hours from 1pm-5pm.

What You'll Do:

Wash dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipmentKeep dish and kitchen areas clean, organized, and sanitaryAssist with general kitchen cleaning, including floors, work surfaces, and equipmentHelp with basic food preparation and portioning for our community meal programsAssist with packaging and organizing meals for deliveryOccasionally deliver meals to community partnersFollow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety proceduresWork cooperatively with kitchen staff, trainees, and other Stone Soup team membersPitch in where needed to help keep a busy production kitchen running smoothly

Dependable and able to maintain a consistent Monday Friday scheduleComfortable working on your feet in a fast-paced kitchen environmentAble to lift and carry up to 50 poundsWilling to do both dishwashing and basic food prepAble to follow instructions and work independently when neededGood communication skills and a team-oriented attitudeCommitment to maintaining a clean and safe kitchenPrevious commercial kitchen, dishwashing, or food prep experience preferred, but not requiredFood Handler's Card required or ability to obtain oneValid driver's license and a safe driving record required
