Job Description
Overview The Food Preparation Worker plays a vital role in the kitchen, assisting in the preparation and presentation of food for various dining experiences. This position is essential for maintaining high standards of food quality and safety while ensuring that all meals are prepared efficiently and in a timely manner. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food service and a commitment to providing excellent hospitality. Duties Assist in the preparation of ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and sanitizing surfaces. Support chefs and cooks in cooking tasks, ensuring food is prepared according to recipes and standards. Participate in banquet setups by arranging food displays and serving areas. Handle food items safely by following proper food handling procedures to ensure quality and safety. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy service periods. Assist with catering events, preparing meals according to client specifications. Provide excellent customer service by interacting with guests during meal service. Skills Experience in bussing tables and providing support during meal service. Proficient in food preparation techniques with an understanding of culinary practices. Previous banquet experience is a plus, especially in high-volume settings. Strong cleaning skills to maintain a hygienic kitchen environment. Basic cooking skills with an eagerness to learn more advanced techniques. Familiarity with food service operations, including catering and restaurant environments. Knowledge of proper food handling practices to ensure safety and compliance with health regulations. Experience in hospitality settings such as hotels or restaurants is highly desirable. Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.
