Job Overview Join our dynamic culinary team as a Kitchen Porter, where your energy and dedication will keep our kitchen running smoothly and efficiently. In this vital role, you will support the culinary staff by maintaining a clean, organized, and safe environment. Your efforts will ensure that food preparation, sanitation, and kitchen operations meet the highest standards of safety and quality. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop foundational kitchen skills while contributing to a vibrant hospitality setting. For full-time employees, benifits are offered. For all employees, we feed you (free of charge) whenever you are on shift. Responsibilities Assist with basic food preparation tasks under supervision, including ingredient handling and portioning. Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas by washing dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment using proper dishwashing procedures. Support food safety sanitizing procedures to ensure compliance with health regulations and sanitation standards. Clear tables, bussing dishes promptly to keep service areas tidy and organized. Operate kitchen equipment safely and correctly, including dishwashers, mixers, and other small appliances. Handle manual tasks such as heavy lifting of supplies and equipment with proper technique to prevent injury. Follow all kitchen health and safety standards diligently to create a safe working environment for everyone. Assist with food handling duties during busy service times, ensuring proper storage and rotation of ingredients. Support banquet or event setups by preparing serving areas and assisting with cleanup afterward. Skills Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments demonstrating familiarity with kitchen operations. Strong cleaning skills coupled with knowledge of sanitation practices specific to food establishments. Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including lifting heavy items regularly. Knowledge of food safety management principles and sanitizing procedures to uphold hygiene standards. Competence in operating various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently. Basic knife skills for food prep assistance when needed. Experience in dishwashing and maintaining cleanliness during high-volume periods. Understanding of kitchen health and safety regulations essential for maintaining a compliant workspace. Previous banquet or large-event support experience is a plus but not required.
