Salary :

New hires start at a firm range of $18.06-20.00 per hour . This position is a Step 1 on the internal salary schedule, which has a range of $18.06-23.88/hour. An opportunity for a wage increase is based on passing the first six months, engaging in the annual evaluation process, demonstrating satisfactory job performance, the availability of budgetary funds, and other market factors.

Headquarters in Olympia, report to Olympia, WA •Senior Services for South Sound is looking for a part-time, Kitchen Assistant & Dishwasher (KAD) in the Senior Nutrition program (SN) based out of Olympia for 25 hours per week, who is responsible for assisting with the preparation, sealing, and packing of meals for Meals on Wheels. This ideal person ensures meals meet nutrition, food safety, dietary restrictions, and portion control standards. KAD also assists in doing the dishes, setting up/breaking down the dining room, and performing other cleaning and organizing duties as assigned. What you will be doing:

We're looking for a Kitchen Assistant & Dishwasher working 25 hours a week to help prepare meals for the Meals on Wheels program in the Olympia kitchen and help clean dishes, set up and break down the dining room, and perform other cleaning and organizing duties as assigned.

Key outcomes:

The Kitchen Assistant & Dishwasher:

Assists Olympia kitchen staff in the preparation of meals to meet all program requirements while complying with health and safety standards. Works directly with volunteers to make Meals on Wheels meals, manage dishes, and clean the meal station. Participates in mandatory staff meetings and trainings, primarily held in Olympia, as required. Assists with fundraising events as required. Performs other duties as required.

What you will bring:

Possesses a current Food Handler's permit or obtains one within 30 days of employment; Possesses or obtains CPR/First Aid card; GED or High School diploma; and Experience implementing and maintaining food safety practices and regulations.

Preferred:

Applicants who also possess the following may receive additional consideration from the hiring manager: Culinary Arts Program graduate or related certification or experience. WA Driver's license; or State issued I.D.; auto insurance coverage.
