The City of Louisville is accepting applications for a welcoming and detail-oriented Party Attendant! Under the general supervision of Recreation supervisors, the selected candidate will organize and supervise children's birthday parties and other celebrations at the Louisville Recreation Center. Parties take place on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. For a typical birthday party, a Party Attendant may participate in the following party-related activities (subject to change based on party host needs or Recreation Center offering availability): Set up decorations or other supplies. Clean to prepare for the next party. Facilitate games for groups of children ranging in age 3-10 years old. Be able to communicate to parents. Ensure safety and wellbeing of youth party attendees. Applications are reviewed on a continuous basis. This position will remain open until filled. Promotes guest safety and satisfaction during all activities; regularly checks in with party host to ensure satisfaction. Checks and cleans the party areas and Recreation Center equipment before, during, and after party activities as needed. Enforces Recreation Center rules and guidelines as needed to ensure a safe environment. Helps set up and take down decorations or other supplies. Maintains the flow and order in the party room and helps execute party-related tasks. Other duties as required by Recreation Center operations.

SPECIAL LICENSE, REGISTRATION, OR CERTIFICATE REQUIRED

Minimum 15 years of age by first day of employment. CPR / First Aid Certification or the ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of basic childcare procedures. Skills in performing Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) activities. Skill organizing and leading various children's party activities. Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with the public. Ability to listen well and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to effectively lead and coordinate children's activities. Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks. Ability to read, interpret, and apply operating policies and procedures. Ability to react quickly and accurately in emergency situations. Ability to maintain composure during mentally, physically, and emotionally stressful situations.
