Job Description

WE ARE HIRING POOL MONITORS!
We are looking for personable and responsible individuals who can maintain a safe and clean pool environment while providing excellent customer service. Candidates must be able to engage with people of all ages, exercise good judgment, follow written and oral instructions, and handle stressful situations calmly. Key Responsibilities (may vary by location): Greet patrons and provide friendly, professional customer service. Check for pool passes and refuse entry to unauthorized guests. Enforce community pool rules and ensure all patrons follow established safety guidelines. Maintain written logs of incidents and daily operations. Enforce social distancing guidelines in accordance with local pool rules. Keep the pool area clean and organized, including: Skimming the pool for debris. Wiping down tables. Lowering umbrellas. Straightening chairs and tables. Emptying trash. Keeping bathrooms tidy and fully stocked.
Work Requirements:
High school diploma or GED required. Prior experience as a pool attendant, pool cleaner, or lifeguard is preferred but not required. Reliable transportation and willingness to travel within a 50-mile radius. Ability to remain calm and handle emergency or confrontational situations effectively. Physical ability to stand, sit, bend, stretch, and tolerate prolonged exposure to the sun. Strong communication and customer service skills. Availability to work weekends and summer holidays. Ability to manage conflict and associated stress. Preferred backgrounds include teachers, retirees, and college students seeking a summer job.
Work Schedule:
Able to work 4-5 days per week. Shifts typically occur between 11 AM - 9 PM on some weekdays and weekends. Flexible hours from May through September. Shifts vary.
Special Note:
Applicants must be available to work on major summer holidays, including Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day (July 4th), and Labor Day.
Pay:
