Job Purpose:
The Fitness Supervisor oversees daily fitness desk operations and supports the club's fitness programming and administration: roughly 75% desk and member service, 25% administration. Working closely with members, staff, and the Wellness Director, this hands-on role keeps the fitness center clean, safe, and welcoming while upholding TPC's service and professional standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Fitness Desk Operations (approximately 75%) Supervise, support, and train Fitness Desk Associates on front-desk procedures, member policies, and service standards Provide front-line customer service, including greeting members, answering questions, and resolving member concerns Monitor and enforce all fitness center rules, including youth member policies Coordinate desk coverage and scheduling adjustments, including breaks and call-outs Lead daily equipment and facility checks; report safety or maintenance issues and keep the center clean, organized, and presentable Assist with special events, programming logistics, and merchandise setup and sales Perform Fitness Desk Associate duties as needed, and model club policies, dress code, and service expectations Fitness Administration (approximately 25%) Partner with the Wellness Director on onboarding new staff, tracking certifications, and communicating team performance Contribute professional-development topics and program ideas at monthly fitness meetings Advise on new programming and equipment needs Develop and lead group exercise classes Keep management informed of member feedback and operational needs, and support retention through member check-ins and follow-ups All other duties as assigned Qualifications -
Minimum Experience, Competencies, and Education:
Age 18 or older; high school diploma or equivalent (some college preferred) Prior customer service and team leadership experience (preferred in a fitness or hospitality setting) Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to lead by example with professionalism, punctuality, and attention to detail Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ClubSoft Access (training provided) Current First Aid/CPR/AED Certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days Current group fitness certification from an accredited program (e.g., ACSM, NASM, NSCA, or AFAA), or willingness to obtain one within 30 days
Preferred Experience, Competencies, and Education:
Experience in a gym or health club setting, including some supervisory or lead responsibility Nationally recognized personal training certification (e.g., ACSM, NASM, NSCA) preferred
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those required to perform the essential functions of this job; reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities. Work takes place in a fitness center with cardiovascular equipment, resistance machines, and free weights, and regularly involves handling weights, assisting members with lifting movements, and cleaning equipment, including lifting or moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds. The role requires standing, walking, and sitting; using hands to handle objects, tools, or controls; reaching, climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching; talking and hearing; and close and distance vision with the ability to adjust focus.
Hours & Availability:
This position averages 30-40 hours per week. The Wellness Director sets the schedule, which includes weekday mid-day and evening shifts and at least one weekend day each week (Saturdays preferred). Weekend availability is a condition of the role. Both Saturday and Sunday are occasionally required, such as for call-outs or other emergencies, holidays, and peak programming or special events.

Pay Rate:
