Job Description
Director of Fitness, Recreation and Wellness We are a private member social, business, and recreation club seeking a full-time Director to oversee operations for our fitness center & spa, childcare, and seasonal summer recreation programs. The ideal candidate has a busiess mindset and is a creative, high-energy leader with a passion for customer service and team development. Schedule -- Full-time. Scope -- Department-head-level position, responsible for overall operations of the University Club's fitness center & spa, childcare, and seasonal summer family and children's recreation programs. Key Responsibilities Manage the fitness center & spa in an upscale, member-centric environment. Oversee services including personal training, group exercise programs, corporate wellness, massage treatments, and on-site childcare. Manage seasonal summer recreation, which features an expansive outdoor swimming pool facility and programs for families, including day camps, a youth swim team, and golf events. Lead program development, staff development, supervision, and mentoring. Handle departmental public relations and budgetary management. Collaborate with other department heads in areas such as food & beverage, member events, and human resources. Qualifications A team player with a business mindset, focused on customer service and staff development. Outgoing, high-energy, and a creative thinker. An effective leader and relationship-builder. Significant leadership experience in a customer service oriented fitness or recreation management environment. Proven experience in at least three of the following areas: fitness, pool/aquatics, wellness/spa, childcare, or summer camps. Demonstrated experience in program development, staff development, supervision, public relations, and budgetary management. Experience in a private member club setting is a plus. We provide fine and casual dining, meetings and events, swimming, summer day camps, and golf.
