RESPONSIBILITIES
: Buffalo High School is seeking an energetic, passionate, and student-centered Theater Director to lead our outstanding Theater program. We are seeking an individual committed to developing students both on and off the stage, and to cultivating an inclusive environment where every participant feels valued, challenged, and inspired. Successful candidates will bring creativity, collaboration, and a genuine passion for the performing arts, furthering Buffalo Theater's strong tradition of excellence. Direct and oversee the Buffalo High School Theater program, including, but not limited to, Fall Musical, and Spring Play productions. Foster a positive, student-centered culture that emphasizes teamwork, creativity, responsibility, and personal growth. Communicate clearly and collaborate with students, staff, families, and community members to create exceptional educational theatrical experiences. Recruit, mentor, and support student performers and technical theater participants. Coordinate production elements including auditions, rehearsals, performance schedules, technical crews, and volunteers. Work collaboratively with the Activities Office while managing program budgets, facilities, and production logistics. Collaborate with booster organizations and guide fundraising efforts while being a good steward of funds raised and program budgets. Advocate for and promote theater arts programming across the district and within the greater BHM Community while encouraging broad student participation
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
: Experience directing large and small high school theater productions. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to lead, inspire, and grow students of varying experience levels. Fluency and knowledge of acting, stage movement, technical theater, and production management. Commitment to collaboration, professionalism, and positive student relationships. Drive to connect with and utilize the theater community and local resources to benefit student productions.
